writing this at the rollerskating rink… it’s 8:30pm (posting tomorrow bc low battery. edit: it is tomorrow).

it was 18+ night, so i brought my driver’s license like a responsible adult. the guy checked it, looked at me, then said, “wow… you look young.” i genuinely thought i was about to be denied entry, but i survived!!! this was also my first time on proper quad skates (i’ve only ever used inline), which explains why my balance immediately betrayed me. the retro theme was great though. it felt like i’d stepped into another decade, the dj was solid, and every time i passed his booth i nearly ate the floor (very immersive experience).

in other news, i was thinking of entering the silent manga contest... until i realized submissions close in march. i have a draft, but let's just say it's currently speaking the silent part a little too well. it's... bad. so uh, that's a new side quest i've picked up, i guess. idk... we'll see if i have the motivation n confidence.

i finally changed my spacehey layout, and it was actually so much fun :3 i spent way too long on it, but for once i made a whole new layout from scratch instead of just swapping out the hex codes and images on my previous ones. it felt really good to actually design something again instead of just tweaking.

hello! so i’ve been offline doing a bunch of side quests lately, one of which was a bike ride. unfortunately, i got the wrong batteries for my camera, so i had to improvise. i saw a lot of photographers with their fancy setups and got a little envious, but i still managed to take some cool pictures with my phone!

it’s getting pretty late but i figured i’d drop a quick update anyway (brain said “do it now or never”). i’d be lying if i said this week was all sunshine n rainbows tbh... it was actually kinda rough; not cool... but i’m feeling a lot better now :]

yesterday i was just zoning out, watching telly, and this movie springtime (2004) came on. i missed the very beginning but i think i caught enough of the important parts to get the heart of it. it was… really comforting. :D no really!!!!! i love movies that feel realistic and grounded(?) (melodramas are literally my weakness) even if i watch so many they start blending together after a while lol. today i rewatched miracle in cell no. 7 too... that sailor moon bag will haunt me forever, i swear. then i played a bunch of games like mario party jamboree, fifa and wwe 2k25... way more fun than i expected tbh. oh and super smash!! i finally have joker yuhhh >:D and yeah i even dressed up my mii as the persona 3 protagonist ~

koi here!! good morning (or afternoon if it is for you)...

so i was job hunting again, and honestly, it’s a bit of a downer lately. every other role has ‘ai’ attached to it now. isn't it a bit strange to see the whole field tilt so completely? it makes things feel a little impersonal, you know? i see posts calling jobs ‘easy’ because they just let a tool handle the work, and it’s just… ugh. anyway, i know the part-time search is tough for everyone right now, but i’m determined to find something that doesn’t make me cringe.

on a much sweeter note, i have some good news to balance it out. i finally got my hands on the novel for long vacation by eriko kitagawa. (she wrote heaven’s postman, the one with hyojoo and jaejoong, which is such a lovely piece of trivia to me.) the only catch is, it’s in japanese. looks like i’ll be papago-ing each sentence slowly >:/ but that’s okay. i’ll finish the drama first, then i can see how the book compares, huehue.

that got me thinking about other little joys, like scents. we talked about perfumes a while back, didn’t we? >:000 so, for today’s qotd: what’s your current favorite fragrance? this year i got ck one eau de toilette, and wow, it’s so nostalgic. definitely a bottle i’ll keep buying forever, right next to my always-trusty davidoff cool water.

feeling like a quiet reading day today. my sibling lent me ‘i hope this doesn’t find you’ by ann liang, and i’m fully braced for a deliciously messy plot.

(random thought: i watched let's go! dream team ii yesterday and i genuinely think dongjun from z:ea should be on ninja warriors!!!!! he should go pro, i’m serious.)

let me start with the pho (i had this monday, which is technically last year, hmmm....) i’m craving it right now ㅠㅠ. not even eating it, just spiritually thinking about it. the broth. the steam.... the emotional stability it promises- anyway, i feel much better today, but this week was a mess in a very stupid way :P.

my “unlimited” gb started acting funny. how did i find out? the tv wasn’t working. me and my sibling were fully ready to put on produce 101 s2 to celebrate their reunion (important cultural event!!!), but nope. tv said no. moved to my tablet. nope. even smaller. my phone. also nope :D so we just froze on ren’s majestic visuals, paid our respects, and called it a day ^^; not complaining... but.... the wifi was moving like my old 3ds trying to connect to the internet!!!!!!! painfully slow. like you can feel it thinking n buffering emotionally. it was supposed to expire in 3 weeks... very odd :/

i ended up using my ancient broken phone that somehow has a radio (legendary device tbh). a local station played david bowie and i just sat there like… okay… life is cinema actually :3. there’s also a station where you can submit music, which got me thinking (dangerous behavior). if you had to submit one song to a random radio station, what would you pick? something comforting? something unhinged? something to confuse commuters >:D

new day, same nonsense. hotspot on, data still doesn’t work :]. beautiful. we ended up watching hana kimi (for me, rewatching), the taiwanese version. i truly do not remember it being that unhinged. everyone is yelling, sprinting, committing to the bit at 200%. exhausting but kind of perfect. JUSTICE FOR MY GUY JIROOOO!!!!

also i was looking through apprenticeships related to what i studied, being all serious and adult, and then one listing casually said “use of guillotine”. my soul left my body ㅠㅠ. then i realized. oh. cutting machine. paper. not execution (luckily). very awkward five seconds in my brain.

anyway. pho would fix all of this. i just know it.

first post of the year and i wake up with a sore throat. love that for me. 2026 really said “ease into it” (by force).

anyway. i roll over, grab my phone, open spotify, put on nrg because comfort noise helps. and then. boom. london concert pops up. february. my brain goes blank. hello??? what do you mean nrg… they're still active??? (no) 

sore throat immediately forgotten. i’m awake. i’m alert. i’m spiralling.

so i do what any normal person does and sprint to a concert site. i see the name. i see a picture. heart racing. then i scroll. set list is all random djs i’ve never heard of. confusion sets in. plot twist reveal: it’s just some random dj who also goes by “nrg”. not that nrg. not my nrg. deception. betrayal. emotional damage. (putting the clown makeup on myself rn)

so yeah. no nrg concert in february i guess. i will live. barely. sore throat still there btw. rude.

still though. first post of the year. we’re back. hope everyone’s easing into january gently and not being jump-scared by fake concerts like me. rest up, drink water, be kind to your throat and your heart :]
