good morning! so yesterday was april fools and i genuinely did not expect to get fooled once. i was just chilling, playing maplestory, minding my business... and then my older sib decided to come over and casually start listing things coming out this year. things that i like.
"oh did you hear a live action of a show you watch all the time is coming out...? i forgot the name...."
i asked what obviously. then he went dead silent, just playing on his computer. then suddenly,
"oh and also naruto is going to have a remake for the older seasons"
HUH????
"and fruits basket is going to have a live jdrama adaptation"
HUH!?!?!?
"sailor moon live action film on netflix"
OOOH????
"but what was that show you watched called, oh, the one with the mother that looks like an egg,"
"ATASHIN'CHI!!!!!"
i was so pumped... silly me was already picturing myself watching all of these. then he kept going and something in my brain went...... this is too good to be true. BUT I STILL BELIEVED IT. then he said "april fools idiot" GAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!! hate to admit it but he got me good ;;
anywho, the image i used for this post is from maplestory and they had the elite monsters drawn all goofy for april fools, it made me chuckle. reminds me of the time webtoon had all their comic covers drawn like they were made on mspaint (i wonder if they did it again this year. i didn't check).
on the progress front, i made it to sleepywood!! but honestly i'm not sure i like the game much anymore, it's starting to feel really repetitive. and the fact that you have to spend money just to customise your character and get basic perks... nexon is not even trying to hide it at this point lol.
i also downloaded lovebrush chronicles so we'll see how that goes!! it's taking too long to load....it's like 6gb omg........ is my tablet going to give up on me before i could even play it--- WAIT! IT WORKSSSS!!!! >:D

HELPP THE MONSTER.. he looks so silly, and that's such a clever april fools joke for a game. but.. what is he supposed to be actually? (also, when you mentioned having to pay money to customize your character and get perks, i got shocked but then remembered ROBLOX exists... ughhh why does everything fun cost money?)

waaa i missed it~ that's so charming tho, an april fools' joke like that. understandable that you don't like the game anymore tho, tbh after the first few hours it wore off for me, too. i guess it's just the nature of idle rpgs that are already so hands-off?

elite monsters give equipment that can actually improve damage and stats, so not completely useless. i kinda wish they stayed looking goofy though. (and yeah, the paying for perks thing is so frustrating... roblox really normalized that nonsense ㅠㅠ but at least it's still fun unlike maplestory (that game is pure copium at this point)).

glad i'm not the only one who felt this way....... i'm surprised i even kept playing for as long as i did lol. i'm too stubborn sometimes ^^; but i can definitely see how it would've ended if i continued. think i'll just go back to playing the mmorpg instead...
the game was okay for me, but i didn't get far enough to actually love it. and honestly... i had my suspicions about ai being involved, so thanks for confirming that for me!!! it's a shame because the concept was cute. still trying to figure out if it's even worth the storage space lol. i'll keep you guys updated if i ever dive back in that water!!
