i’m officially too far gone guys... i said someone stop me but here i am, typing this out on my laptop while listening to A・RA・SHI on repeat ㅠㅠ i’ve fully entered the habataki high school delusions and i think it fits them so perfectly it hurts............. ;;
so here’s the casting post no one asked for. and yes, sho is my ichiban so i might’ve been a little extra biased with his route details hehe :3
sho sakurai (the "reliable" student council prez):
he’s the guy you meet if your intelligence stat is high enough. very strict about school rules but then you catch him eating a giant crepe in secret and he gets all flustered (but u don't snitch ofc, cuz u guys are cool like that). his route is all about study dates at the library where he ends up lecturing you for three hours, but he always walks you home~ his red heart state is just him being a total dork and accidentally tripping over nothing during a date at the planetarium. help ㅠㅠ
i can't just stop there... during his rivalry event he gets super competitive at the school sports festival and tries to impress u by sprinting, but he just ends up looking like a panicked, dorky squirrel ;;
and for his winter date outfit? he'd definitely wear one of those giant chunky mufflers that covers half his face while he stutters out something like "it's not like i'm cold or anything... i just wanted to share my hand warmer with u"
for his confession, i feel like he would try to be super formal but the nerves would totally wreck him ㅠㅠ he’d probably lead you to the rooftop at sunset or the quiet pier at the harbor. he’d start with this long, rehearsed speech about future goals and mutual growth like a total student council nerd, only to get stuck halfway through and just blurt out "i want you to stay by my side" while staring at his shoes, lol.
satoshi ohno (the sleepy art club senpai):
he’s definitely a hidden route or the one you find napping on the rooftop during lunch. he has zero interest in the param-o-meter and just wants to talk about fish or clay. his skinship mode thingy is difficult because he’s usually half-asleep until you hit the 3rd year (the character development is real though). he’d give you a hand-carved wooden lure for your birthday and just go "eh? you don't like it?"
masaki aiba (the energetic sports club sunshine):
"DO YOU LIKE BIRD?????" he’s the one who invites you to the zoo or the bowling alley every single weekend. aiba is the type to have a "failed" date because he accidentally got bit by a monkey or something, but he just laughs it off ^o^/ if you’re on his route, the bomb icons from other guys don't even matter because you're having too much fun. he’d definitely be the one to accidentally confess his love in the middle of a basketball game.
kazunari ninomiya (the cynical gamer/club-skipper):
i just know nino would be the hardest route to get............ he’s always behind the school building playing his gameboy and makes fun of your outfit choices (ore-sama energy but very lowkey). he’d have the sharpest tongue but the moment his heart meter goes pink, he becomes so clingy it's ridiculous ;__; nino and aiba as a duo route would be funny. like nino just roasting aiba in the background of your dates.
jun matsumoto (the flashy fashionable prince):
i’m actually crying just thinking about the cg art for these... someone please take my laptop away before i start drawing the interface ㅠㅠ orz.

TT but i think i understand now! from what i found, the premise of the game is that you play from the perspective of a girl and you date a bunch of guys. and then a route is kinda like the gameplay choices you make and how they affect the storyline… right? i hope i don’t have this all wrong, lol.
aahh.. ^_^" please excuse me if i answer with absolute nonsense, but as a hypothetical game dev, i’m drawn to casting the members of qwer for this one.
chodan is relaxed and admirable. she’s only ever referred to you by a nickname she gave you the day you guys met. she’ll invite you to have a meal with her, and maybe play the drums. oh, and you better watch her gaming streams. she probably doesn’t say a whole lot around you, but she’s sweet and makes you feel at ease. she will begin her confession by calling you by your name.
magenta is charming and affectionate. she is caring towards you, ordering you food and drink even when you didn’t ask. she shares her earbuds with you when listening to music. you’ll be well aware of her love before she even says anything.
siyeon is super diligent and supportive! her mood is always lifted when you are around, and she always lets you know of that. she sings for you often, and you enjoy listening to her. she also makes you playlists bc why not? she’ll probably confess to you through song.
and last but not least, hina!! keeps you up super late texting on the phone bc she refuses to sleep for some reason. when she’s not in the studio practicing, she’s showing you pictures of her cat. she will probably confess to you completely by accident.

and OMG your qwer casting is so cute!! (this is my first time hearing about this band, they look v cool!) my favorite route would probably be chodan's... the idea of her calling you by a nickname the whole time and then suddenly switching to your real name during the confession........ i'm sold.

kamenashi would be the reliable boy next door. he plays baseball and coaches the small hometown kids' team on it, as both an extracurricular and out of a genuine love of the game. he moved into town a few years ago with the rest of his family, but still feels a little bit like an outsider. his route involves lots of one-on-one hangouts at various games and practices, cute study dates, and exploring the local area since he hasn't had much of a chance to. maybe he even shows mc how to play baseball, too, with varying degrees of success. over time, your friends also become his friends and he opens out of his little shell~ i think... his confession would be like, "if i win this game, i have something important to tell you after..." and when they do, he runs up you and hugs you tight first of all. perfectly heartwarming.
akanishi would be the classic cool / bad boy with a soft heart. you'd probs start his route by being the only person to catch him on the rooftop of the school playing guitar~ when he catches you, he surprisingly asks what you think of it. depending on how you answer, he might want to get to know you more, and invites you to come up to the roof more often. most developments happen on that roof, but he could also pull you out of school or hang out with you late at night at a nearby park, to help you escape from your stresses. he’s popular, but for some reason, prefers to hang out with you alone, and becomes more vulnerable to you than anyone else. i know akanishi's a really confident guy, but ultimately, i'd like to think he'd confess to mc with a handwritten song and a note. something for you to hold onto. in that way, he'd be confident in his love for you, that he can give you something so permanent and promise that it'll still be relevant years down the line. layer and layers, like mille-feuille.
taguchi would be the light-hearted, silly childhood best friend. i think his route would be a bonus route, because he's the best friend, but also... it wouldn't be a bad idea to have him as a base choice. most of the events involve going to fun cafés, playing in arcades, and helping him study. over time, he reveals how serious he is about your guys' relationship, whatever it turns out to be... he's always there for you! his confession would be at the old playground you guys met on, sharing memories, eventually building up to a sort of... "i think i can see a forever with you." sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face. (also, as he's the best friend... whenever he makes appearances in other routes, he always shows up being a goof to make the mc laugh. whether the other member laughs as well, is... not guaranteed.) - At

- tanaka would be the magnanimous style icon. his route would start at a clothing store, where you can’t decide what to get. but tanaka, who works there, ends up giving you the most amazing outfit you’ve ever seen. later on, you end up finding him as a member of a fashion / style club, and join so you can learn more about fashion (and thank him). you two end up coming with lots of awesome outfits together, and become a strong duo in the fashion world of the school. his confession would probably be romantic; you get a meal after a long night with the fashion club, he pays for your meal, and asks if you want to date over a soda float. i think you could walk away from this playthrough feeling cooler than anything and anyone else.
ueda would be the intimidating but kind athlete. his route would start at the school festival, when you watch him compete with everyone else. by chance, you help the competition staff give him a water bottle, and end up showing him around the festival, since he hasn't done much else but show off his awesome skills. and then, he just... sorta latches onto you (not in a bad way). there's a lot of chance meetings in his route, such as being in the same convenience store late at night, catching him on his super-early commute to school. a lot is shared in those moments, since they're usually not populated with eavesdroppers. over time, he spends more time with you in public, eating with you at lunch, showing you where he celebrates his wins. he wants to celebrate your wins as well, and makes sure you're always comfortable without outside pressure. his confession would probs be very casual. maybe the mc asks what makes him practice and study so hard, and he replies with a simple, "you." the sort of story that brings quiet strength.
and nakamaru would be the nerd archetype, of course. his route would start in the library, where you’re having the WORST TIME OF YOUR LIFE cramming for a class you barely understand. but he, the top student of the school and a volunteer at the library, offers to help find you books and study materials for the class. as it turns out, he’s in that class as well. so his route is rather simple— lots of studying, talking about the future and work, maybe even traveling to outside places and different libraries to help your brain. i think he’d confess with a note tucked into a book he suggests you borrow. a bit predictable, but soothing and sweet all the same. - At

i'm definitely a sucker for the boy next door type so kamenashi's route would be my first pick, hehe. the baseball confession after winning a game and the tight hug... that's just too pure. but i also really like akanishi's route! the handwritten song and note as a permanent thing you can hold onto feels so layered and romantic, like a mille feuille as you said (perfect analogy >:3)
you really captured everyone so well. i would absolutely play this otome game if it existed ㅠㅠ thank you for sharing this eugeneeee, it was such a joy to read!!!!!!!!!!!
