okay!! so i finally finished twelve letters and wow… i have things to say.
first off: i really did like it. the whole show had me hooked from start to finish. the characters felt real, the setting was gorgeous, and the emotional punches hit harder than i expected. honestly, the casting was 10/10. every actor felt like they belonged exactly where they were, no awkwardness, no “hmm they could’ve picked someone else.” perfect fits all around.
but… let’s talk about that ending. so picture this: i’m all curled up, invested, waiting for the big wrap-up, then suddenly “the end” just smacks onto the screen. no warning. literal jumpscare. like… that’s it? we’re done? it almost felt unfinished, like they had a few more pages of the script hiding somewhere but forgot to film them. i wanted more closure. just something.
and here’s the thing, watching the show overall made me feel really sad. it’s heavy. sometimes even ptsd-inducing heavy. the kind of sadness that lingers with you after you shut off the screen. but at the same time, there were sweet moments tucked in there that softened it just enough. those moments saved me.
so yeah. overall rating? 8.7/10. it could’ve been an easy ten because i truly loved so much of it. but the abrupt ending and all the trauma weighed it down a bit for me. still, no regrets watching. it’s one of those stories that sticks with you even after it’s over.
