twelve letters (final thoughts)

okay!! so i finally finished twelve letters and wow… i have things to say.

first off: i really did like it. the whole show had me hooked from start to finish. the characters felt real, the setting was gorgeous, and the emotional punches hit harder than i expected. honestly, the casting was 10/10. every actor felt like they belonged exactly where they were, no awkwardness, no “hmm they could’ve picked someone else.” perfect fits all around.

but… let’s talk about that ending. so picture this: i’m all curled up, invested, waiting for the big wrap-up, then suddenly “the end” just smacks onto the screen. no warning. literal jumpscare. like… that’s it? we’re done? it almost felt unfinished, like they had a few more pages of the script hiding somewhere but forgot to film them. i wanted more closure. just something.

and here’s the thing, watching the show overall made me feel really sad. it’s heavy. sometimes even ptsd-inducing heavy. the kind of sadness that lingers with you after you shut off the screen. but at the same time, there were sweet moments tucked in there that softened it just enough. those moments saved me.

so yeah. overall rating? 8.7/10. it could’ve been an easy ten because i truly loved so much of it. but the abrupt ending and all the trauma weighed it down a bit for me. still, no regrets watching. it’s one of those stories that sticks with you even after it’s over.

this show sounds interesting!!! but totally get you on the abrupt ending dislike... like i know sometimes people use it to bring off this feeling of hopelessness or acceptance, if that makes sense? like sometimes things end feeling badly, and that's how it is. but it really does suck ㅠㅠ

yeah exactly!!!! like i get what they were trying to do..... it doesn’t always wrap up with a bow, sometimes it just ends and you’re left hanging. that’s real, sure. but as a viewer, it lowkey feels like the rug got pulled out from under me. i wanted at least a tiny bit of closure, even a hint. instead it’s like “ok bye, deal with it.” :,[
i'll just make up my own ending..... hehe.
