for some reason i woke up at two in the morning and, instead of going back to sleep, ended up browsing a j-dorama forum.

and guys......... LONG VACATION WAS MENTIONED MULTIPLE TIMES.

excuse me??? what is happening???

apparently long vacation is having a bit of a resurgence right now, which is funny because just the day before i was rewatching episode one with my cousin alongside itazura na kiss (1996). both shows are somehow turning thirty this year, which genuinely does not feel real(!); they've aged so gracefully that my brain refuses to process the number.

and now long vacation is on netflix, celebrating the tenth anniversary of its re-release, and apparently there's even a hong kong remake in development...?

part of me is thrilled because the show absolutely deserves more recognition. the other part is panicking because that means spoilers are now a very real threat. i've been carefully savouring every episode like the last piece of cake... but i think those days are over now ㅠㅠ darn it... (speaking of spoilers, i accidentally stumbled across a huge one for the apothecary diaries manga. PLEASE USE SPOILER WARNINGS PPL!!!!!!!!)

i started hana yori dango and i think this might be my favourite adaptation! totally unbiased, of course. absolutely nothing to do with matsujun being in it. nothing at all :]

it's already five in the morning, so i might as well watch another episode since sleep clearly isn't part of today's schedule. heh.

during the weekend, we had a picnic bday party at a fancy park (there was a pretty castle nearby), and i think i may actually be getting old... i spent the afternoon playing with my younger relatives and somehow managed to pull muscles i didn't even know existed ;; i wanted to retire gracefully onto a bench while my baby cousin played catch with me. it was still a lot of fun, though!

i also bought a few presents and was genuinely shocked by how expensive toys are nowadays. then again, maybe they've always been expensive and i'm only noticing now....

i also watched twilight and... yeah. no comment. other than that, i've mostly been chilling and eating mi goreng. actually... i'm craving some right now. it's just so good. i could cry.

i had leftover tempura for breakfast and i've been rotating between arashi mvs, news, michael jackson performances, and random music camp clips. i've been at this all month, lewl.

i watched a bit of yamada taro monogatari, and the show is surprisingly wholesome. i genuinely expected sho's character to be a snobby rich kid who would use taro's situation against him, but instead he's actually... a nice kid??? definitely finishing this by the end of the week. (spoiler alert: i did not.)

all week i've been listening to michael jackson nonstop. i've practically exhausted every song from michael jackson: the experience. stranger in moscow is still my favourite.

also, i somehow ended up babysitting. normally i'm not the first person anyone asks for childcare duties, and after this experience i completely understand why. for example, i forgot to lock the front door.... luckily my aunt came back to grab something and immediately asked: "...why is the door unlocked?" (gulp)

it was certainly an experience. but waking up to my baby cousin saying, "koi! good morning! i love you!" was ridiculously cute. love u too, bubba ;;

...

we visited a huge library for my sibling's birthday, and i somehow left with four books.........

as for the aviation opportunity... i took the test and passed, as expected. but i ended up turning down the opportunity. the introduction presentation confirmed one thing: i really don't like airports. so i shall begin a different quest :]

speaking of turning things down, i also recently dropped a drama called 'you are my destiny' starring yoona (MY FIRST LOVE STORY!!! UH UH UH). i absolutely loved her as sebyeok, but i just couldn't get invested in the story. i gave it around thirty episodes to win me over. thirty. episodes. and i still couldn't stand the male lead and the cousin. i tried. i really did.

i started watching merlin and the show is PEAK. i'm already on series two and somehow every episode keeps getting better.

hello hello!! it's june already. what a strange feeling. i completed a quick admin course and next week i'll be enrolling in a cybersecurity course, so somehow the plan worked out after all :] (i think i jinxed myself omg.....)

yesterday our kitchen tap broke. well, to be more accurate, a small birthday gremlin broke it. ahem. not exposing said gremlin. the water wouldn't stop running. it continued throughout the entire night. i tried fixing it myself while following a youtube tutorial, and everything was going splendidly until... the final step. the tap refused to budge!!!! @_@ at that point i accepted the whole thing probably needed replacing (it did). thankfully, our neighbours were kind enough to help stop the water until the plumber arrived (it took him two whole days though!!!!!! can you imagine the water bill otherwise? the tap would've been running for three days straight. thank you, neighbours <3).

apparently the neighbour who helped looked like cristiano ronaldo(?) what happened to preparing for the world cup.......?

there's this fox that keeps stalking us, and it returned. except this time there were FIVE of them. they were all standing near the woods staring directly at us. then out of nowhere my sibling went: "i think they found a squirrel."

no. no. no. no.... it can't be..... PLEASE DON'T LET IT BE MY FOUND FAMILY!!!!!!! i realised i hadn't seen the squirrels around while doing the dishes lately, and it's summer so that's odd????

i'm choosing to believe they all became friends. yes. that is the version i'm accepting. for my own sanity... but do..... do foxes even eat squirr--- i don't even want to finish that sentence...... ;;

i checked outside one last time hoping for a miracle. the weather was nice, but there was no sign of them. maybe they moved elsewhere? maybe they sensed danger and escaped? they're fast little things, after all. i do regret not building a little house for them in our backyard so they'd have a safe spot to hide... but the foxes lurk everywhere. they could just jump over our gate like it's nothing... :(

i'll choose to believe they made it out safely. but i do miss seeing them. it feels like the end of a tiny era.

(update 20/6: i saw a squirrel!!!!!! IT'S A SIGN!!!! I THINK THEY'RE ALIVEEEE!!!!!!!)

on a brighter note, while watching football videos waiting for the next world cup match, we somehow ended up watching a clip of cristiano ronaldo visiting japan and guess who appeared. 

"IS THAT ARASHIIIIIIII??????" absolute legends. ronaldo is a lucky guy, lol.
