today was a weirdly productive rainy day. it’s kinda nice since i had no plans to go out. i made lunch, cleaned the dishes, didn’t even let them sit in the sink “to soak” for 9 business hours... (i also did some drawing with people online… and wow, their skills were kinda intimidating ㅠㅠ)

but then… the incident happened.

so lately i’ve been watching kubz scouts. i went to sleep watching a playlist, very normal behavior, no crimes committed. when i woke up, i wanted to continue where i left off. easy. peaceful. routine.

i opened my history.

my little pony. full episodes.

i just stared at the screen like it personally betrayed me. because explain this to me. if i fell asleep with my laptop playing a kubz scouts playlist, why would it suddenly switch to colourful talking horses?? that’s not even algorithm drift, that’s a genre teleport!!! and i KNOW.. i just know i was on a playlist. playlists don’t just wake up and decide friendship is magic......... ahem. anyway.

so now i’m sitting there thinking… okay. someone used my account during the night and morning. a mystery. a crime. a digital whodunit.

everyone was home, sure. but the playstation, which also has my account on it, was never turned on. i checked. cold. untouched. innocent-looking. suspicious in its innocence, honestly.

then i checked again later and found a second violation. powerpuff girls. oh?

at this point i’m not just confused, i’m building a legal case in my head. my watch history is evidence. my memory is testimony. and the testimony is NOT matching the footage. which means only one thing. my account was compromised. your honor, i would like to present Exhibit A: Not My Cartoons.

first suspect was my younger siblings. classic move. but nope. they were at school during the time of the crime. airtight alibi. cleared of charges. for now. because, coincidentally enough we did talk about my little pony... the day before. hmm....

i was stuck. pacing mentally. dramatic music playing in my head.

then i yelled HOLD IT!!! internally. i swear i’m not crazy.

i remembered the smart tv we left behind.... the one i was sooo sure i logged out of. yeah. that one.

i checked the connected devices. there it was. still linked. still active. so yeah… it wasn’t a sibling. wasn’t me asleep in a cartoon trance, wasn't anyone in the house. it was someone with access to the old tv committing unauthorized streaming in my name. kinda weird that they logged into MY account when i was sure i logged out. that thought is gonna weird me out all week... eugh.

i logged it out. changed my password. courtroom gavel slam in my brain. justice served.

case closed.

anyway, the rain is still going (i think), and i’m about to make some tea and watch something i actually REMEMBER choosing. if i open my history tomorrow and see barbie dreamhouse adventures, i’m moving to the mountains and abandoning society.
